On Thursday we travelled once again to Kampong Cham province which Noora already visited some time ago to see and this time actually buy the first truck load of bamboo for the youth center.
The trip was amazing and the family selling us the bamboo was wonderful. In addition to the bamboo plantation they also have banana plantations and rubber plantations. The community is practically self-contained getting fish and shellfish from the nearby river and all vegetables and rice from the fields. We were offered coconuts which a little boy picked for us by climbing a palm tree right next to their home.
Now we are eagerly waiting for the bamboos to arrive to the site next week so we can finally start building!
